I enjoyed a buffet dinner tonight!
Wondering how to eat well at a buffet? Here are my suggestions;
a) don’t eat more than you need to be full, even if that means not getting your money’s worth.
b) drink green tea or water with dinner, no pop!
c) avoid fried, greasy and fattening foods. Duh.
d) load the majority of your plate with veggies.
e) if you can’t decipher what something is, don’t eat it. Ask or avoid it.
f) if you’re going back to the buffet repeatedly with friends/family, be sure to choose the smallest plate to avoid taking much more than you need.
All in all, don’t stress! Being able to pick and choose from a wide variety of foods in front of you can sometimes be easier than choosing off a menu. Although temptation is often in front of you too, you know treating yourself to a small slice of pizza or a mini cream puff won’t kill you.
What was on my plate? Thai spicy glass noodles, green beans, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, a vegetable pot sticker and a few pieces of vegetable sushi. Not pictured, a mixed vegetable salad, some fruit, a rice krispie treat, a cookie and lots of green tea.
